Firstly, Hi! this is my first post here. I have been looking around on here for a while but never posted. I'm looking at cleaning my throttle body as described in the link by niloc. My only concern is that i dont want to activate any sort of warning that may be logged on the cars computer meaning i would have to get the fault code erased by the dealer. can anybody confirm it is ok to disconnect and clean etc. on a 2003 S60 2.0t without this happening? thanks in advance, Andrew
Hi - I agee with Niloc - get the codes read - you may be wasting time/money on the wrong area. From my experience - I had the same issues as yourself -and it was Front Heated O2 sensor which had failed. Hope you sort it.

Worth trying. I'd the same problem before. Found out to be the jublee clip which hold the inlet hose to the trottle body was not tighten well enough. Take the oppoturnity to clean the inner trottle body housing and ensure all pcv hose keep in place. No more idle problem and "emission service required" msg. Moral of the story; sometimes the garage people are not doing their job properly. Worth trying DIY.
